As per January 2010, B. Braun Avitum treats more than 8.500 patients in more than 150 dialysis centers mainly across Europe, as well as in Asia and Africa at the highest possible quality standards and dialysis treatment practices.
We have expanded our dialysis network into most European countries and created holiday dialysis centers in popular tourist destinations so our patients can rely on the quality and infrastructure that an international company can provide even when they take time off to enjoy a vacation.

Acquisition and Integration of centers in Lithuania and Latvia. Start of Joint-Venture in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Several new center openings in the Eastern region.

2003/2004
Avitum Austria took over a chain of dialysis centers in France, Spain, Czech Republic and Slovakia with more than 1300 patients and became a major league player in Europe.

2000 - 2003
Privatization projects all over Europe. In this period, the annual growth of the group was above 30% in terms of patient numbers and dialysis treatments. Creation of a holiday dialysis group in Spain, especially designed for vacational patients.

1995
At the end of 1995 the patient number was about 1000, most of them in Hungary. The start of private dialysis centers for Avitum in Western Europe was realized with the takeover of SaludCare Canarias, Tenerife.

1994 - 1997
In the mid 90s dialysis privatization gained momentum in emerging East European countries like Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

1994
Avitum was founded in Austria with the goal to bring a high level of quality to dialysis patients across Europe. The headquarters of this relatively young and dynamic business are in Austria, close to all major subsidiaries and dialysis centers of the network.
